19 crimes red wine with coffee

Crimes against Coffee? 19 Crimes Cold Brew red wine has been launched (it contains actual coffee)

Coffee and wine – are these the two best drinks in the world? And, if they are, should you mix them? Treasury Wine Estates have created 19 Crimes Cold Brew “The Deported”, and done just that.

19 Wines is a rebel brand of Treasury Wine Estates.

They’re themed around a gang of thugs who were exiled to a life down under in the 19th century. And their latest creation – The Deported – is a red wine infused with a shot of Colombian Cold Brew Coffee.

A spokesman from Treasury Wine said that the new product “demonstrates the brand’s ambition to push the boundaries within the wine category and recruit a new diverse set of consumers”.

Head of Marketing Ben Blake says that shoppers are “constantly looking for new and exciting products within the category and we’ve seen that under-35s are intrigued by wine fusion products. By blurring the categories and crossing into new territories, we’re confident this new proposition will ignite consumers’ interest to further discover the category”.

What is 19 Crimes Cold Brew all about?

“A liquid ode to our past, 19 Crimes Cold Brew is inspired by those who, beginning in 1788, were transported to Australia for a life of hard labour. Many did not survive the journey. For the sea-beaten people who made it ashore, a new world awaited. As pioneers in a harsh frontier colony, they forged fresh pathways and built new lives from their chequered pasts, brick by brick.”

What does 19 Crimes Cold Brew The Deported taste like?

“Firm and full on the palate with flavours of red currants, dark cherries and chocolate. Complemented with vanilla and a bold coffee finish”

It’s available in the UK now with a RSP of £10 a bottle or you can get a 1.5l box on Amazon for £15.00
