This Starbucks coffee stop motion video is pure artistry (in reverse)

Who doesn’t love a good coffee stop motion video? And this one is amazing.

This video goes back to 2013, but it’s still as fresh and good as the day it was made. It was produced by the Rogier Wieland Studio in Holland, and in short, it’s pure gold.

The Starbucks “Coffee Perfection” coffee stop motion video

The video explains basic coffee knowledge and a behind-the-scenes look at the production process.

The detail is incredible, for example when the roaster checks the roast halfway through.

The video starts at the end, however, with a freshly brewed cup of Starbucks coffee. The cup then transforms, and we’re taken on a journey, in reverse, through the coffee story.

“We designed and built each location of the story with original Starbucks elements, like their paper cups and sugar bags. The maps in between are printed with real coffee stains, only we added them in post.”

Behind the scenes

Maybe this will help illustrate the level of skill that went into making this video:

So, here’s some bonus stop motion videos

Just because they’re so good, here’s some more. Not necessarily coffee related, but just good. Enjoy.

Lego Adventure In The City Stop Motion

“The production, which spanned three months, involved us literally playing with LEGO for a living. We created sets at various scales, from an entire city, of which the highest building was only 10 centimetres tall, to separate LEGO bricks that were almost 2 meters wide.”

FIFA Seeds Stop Motion

“This film is about how FIFA attempts to create safe area’s throughout the world where (often very poor) youth is drawn to join football matches and clinics on special courts and meanwhile also being educated and kept away from crime.”

Bombay Sapphire Imagination Stop Motion

Visual storytelling at its very best.
