A weird, slightly sad, but rather funny video of Philip the ageing coffee maker
Philip is an old, obsolete coffee-maker-guy who’s been replaced by a newer and more exciting pod machine. Oooohh!

The video starts at 9AM, “Just another day at the office”
Philip, the weird puppet guy, with the puppeteer in plain sight, yet curiously invisible, operates him from behind.
He starts making a coffee, as usual, like he’s probably done for the last couple of decades.
An office person walks past, with just a cursory “Good morning”, while Philip sadly watches him go past.
And then another.
“I’m just going to get a coffee“, someone says.
The nearly-defunct Philip pushes forward the same coffee he’s always made.
And then it all goes sideways for Philip.
“Hey, have you seen this?”
“What is it?”
“No way!”
“Ooohh!”
They’re talking about the new, fancy pod machine.
Philip watches sadly from the sidelines as all the attention goes away from him.
We’re inclined to side with Philip as someone says, “Now that’s REAL” espresso”. From a pod machine.
We then get a flashback to Philip’s earlier days, when he was the real deal.
Finally, Philip sadly switches his off button.
