Pour’d: Cold coffee on tap from Marco Beverage Systems

Marco Beverage Systems have launched the POUR’D, “An Innovation in Cold Coffee Dispense”. What’s that mean to simple people like you and me?

What is the POUR’D Cold Coffee Tap?

If you’ll bear with us while we pull out the well-worn phrase “it does what it says on the tin”, it’s kinda really that simple. So simple, in fact, that it hasn’t existed on the market until now.

With the rise of cold brew drinkers in the UK, and around the world, the POUR’D is an under-counter machine with an above-counter tap which dispenses cold coffee, at the point of service, from a single, shiny coffee font.

It’s available in two versions: the Ready To Drink version pours cold coffee “as is”, while the Concentrate version doses coffee concentrate and water, straight into your cup.

The POUR’D Ready to Drink version

Designed for (high-end) offices, coffee shops or luxury caterers, the POUR’D RTD takes the coffee straight from a bag-in-box, kegerator or whatever format you buy your cold brew. It’s available in a range of different variations:

POUR’D 1 Button Ready-to-Drink

One button, press it and you get your cold brew coffee. It’s that simple.

POUR’D 3 Button Ready-to-Drink

3 pre-set buttons, for 3 beverage sizes. Press it and you get a pre-set dose. No more guesswork.

POUR’D Hands-Free Ready-to-Drink

Hold your hand over the sensor, and dispense the coffee. Completely touchless and hygienic.

This model works by dispensing a variety of drinks, but only using a single coffee concentrate. The purpose of this is to automate the dilution of the coffee, without human error or wastage. It’s the most flexible of all the models, and will dispense in ratios from 1:1 to 9:1.

POUR’D Concentrate 3 Button

Here you get a variety of dispensing options:

  • Cold coffee, in 3 pre-set sizes
  • A shot of concentrate for iced mochas or frappes
  • Hot or cold water

Gemma Kiernan, Marco’s Head of Marketing, says: “The true innovation behind POUR’D is the flexibility it allows. Marco carried out extensive research on cold coffee – how it’s brewed, how it’s delivered, et cetera – and found that different sites and different roasters had different needs, POUR’D meets all of these, moving cold brew service to front of house, meaning baristas don’t need to go to the fridge or manually mix their concentrate at the start of the day. It also means that one system can deliver cold coffee, a shot of coffee, and hot or cold water, so that operators can serve multiple beverages from one system.”

The CoffeCode verdict

It’s a clever bit of kit, and if we were going to get one we’d go for the concentrate version – very flexible and adaptable, and ideal for a very busy café environment.
