The Ueshima Coffee Co vision: Coffee that changes the world

Directly from UCC: “We believe in the power of coffee to bring people together – through small, shared moments of joy and by connecting communities and cultures across the world.”

“In the less travelled parts of Japan, locals may be amazed to hear that coffee is as revered in other countries as it is in their own. Because the people of Japan don’t just love coffee. For hundreds of years, they have been perfecting it, in a way few other cultures perfect a craft.”

“We’re sharing coffee mastery from one culture to another. Here to pioneer a global coffee movement, inspiring progress, positivity and innovation in everything we do”.

The UCC Ueshima Coffee branding looks great

The branding looks completely different to the current boutique European branding, and is a refreshing change. Simple, easy on the eye, and a sparse colour palette of red, black and white. And very Japanese.

PS – have a look at the company behind the branding.

The Ueshima Coffee Company coffee range of Three Blends is equally simple

The House Blend

“Notes of caramel, granola and dark chocolate. Our House Blend is a balanced coffee with lower acidity, perfected over decades by our Japanese coffee masters.”

Rainforest Alliance certified and in 100% recyclable bags.

The Tokyo Roast

“Citrus and milk chocolate flavours. Our Tokyo Roast blend is characteristic of the coffee enjoyed by millions in Ueshima Coffee Kafes across Japan.”

Fuji Mountain Roast

“Deep flavours of cocoa, roasted nuts and brown sugar combine to create a rich and indulgent coffee.”

All the three blends are available in Capsules, Whole Bean, Ground Coffee and individually wrapped single-serve Coffee Bags.

What does it taste like?

It’s too early to say, and we’ve not tasted any yet. It’s very cheap for a “premium” brand at £8.00 per 500g but is well above the commercial coffee bean market price.
